Admission to 的教育学院

When you enroll in 的 Foundations Quarter, you are considered a tentative candidate for admission to 的教育学院. Foundations Quarter is comprised of two courses, EDU 2100 & EDU 2300, that may be taken concurrently. 方法季度开始前, you will be required to prepare a formal application for full admission to 的教育学院.

Upon 的 fulfillment of all required prerequisites and full admission to 的教育学院, you may take 的 primary sequence of courses leading to certification.

Admission to 的教育学院 requires 的 following:

完成基础节 获得3分.0的绩点 (“B”) average with no grade lower than a 2.0 (“C”). Your prerequisite coursework must be no more than five 一年s old.
Receive two favorable recommendations 来自SPU教职员工. You will receive directions on this from 的认证办公室 prior to Methods Quarter.

All teacher certification candidates are subject to 华盛顿 state requirements for 的 Residency Certificate. These requirements are updated periodically by 的办公室 of 的 Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) and will take precedent over SPU policies. Upon successful completion of 的 Residency 认证 Program and a baccalaureate degree, 的 SPU 教育学院 recommends students to OSPI for 的ir Residency Teacher 认证. Once OSPI receives program completion verification from SPU, students must complete 的 application process through 的 OSPI “e-认证” system in order to receive 的ir certificate.

The Residency Teaching Certificate allows you to teach in 华盛顿 state. All teachers must take action to maintain a current teaching certificate as per OSPI regulations. Students are strongly encouraged to monitor 的ir certification status on 的 “e-认证” system and keep apprised of current certification requirements on 的 OSPI认证网站.
